It refers to the application of external pressure, the use of plugging equipment to block the pipeline, wellbore, etc., to achieve the control and repair of liquid or gas. The use principle of sealing with pressure mainly includes two aspects: the design of the sealing device and the way of applying pressure.

First of all, the design of the plugging device is the core of the plugging with pressure. The plugging device is generally composed of plugging device, plugging material and plugging tool.

The plugging device is a key device used to plug pipelines or Wells, and its design mainly considers the following factors: size adaptation, pressure resistance, sealing performance and corrosion resistance. Secondly, the way in which the pressure is applied is the key to sealing with pressure. The common ways of applying pressure are hydraulic pressure and pneumatic pressure.

Hydraulic pressure is the application of pressure through a liquid medium. First, the stopper is installed in the sealing position of the pipeline or wellbore, and then the liquid medium is injected into the plugging device through a hydraulic pump. The injection of liquid media creates pressure that causes the plug to expand and form a tight seal with the pipe or wellbore. The advantages of hydraulic pressure are convenient pressure, accurate control, and suitable for small plugging projects.

Pneumatic pressure is the application of pressure through a gaseous medium. Similarly, the stopper is installed in the position where the pipe or wellbore is blocked. Then, the gas medium is sent into the plugging device, and the expansion of the plugging device is controlled by adjusting the pressure of the gas source. The advantage of pneumatic pressure is that the pressure speed is fast, and it is suitable for large-scale plugging projects.

In summary, the principle of using pressure plugging mainly includes the design of the plugging device and the way of applying pressure. By reasonably designing the plugging device, selecting the appropriate plugging materials and tools, and then applying pressure through hydraulic pressure or pneumatic pressure, the plugging and repair of liquid or gas can be realized.
